FIR is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by Manu Anand and produced by Shubhra and Aryan Ramesh under the banner of VV Studioz. The film features Vishnu Vishal,[3] Gautham Vasudev Menon, Manjima Mohan, Reba Monica John, Raiza Wilson in lead roles, and Gaurav Narayanan and Prashanth Rangaswamy in supporting roles. The film's music is composed by Ashwath, with editing by Prasanna GK.

The film released by theatrically on 11 February 2022.[4] The film opened to positive reviews from critics and audience praising the performances of Vishal, action sequences and direction but critcism was aimed at the climax. The film was a sleeper hit at the box-office

Story

Irfan Ahmed, an IIT Madras gold medalist based in Triplicane, Chennai is unsuccessfully attending job interviews, while working part time with a perfume manufacturer. Tired of being questioned on his religious beliefs during interviews, Irfan decides to join perfume business full time. He visits various locations in the country to shop for chemicals. On his way back from Hyderabad, Irfan loses his mobile. Frustrated that he might miss his flight back home, Irfan threatens to bomb the city, which gets him arrested. Later the same mobile is found in a blast site and Irfan is arrested again. He is branded a terrorist and portrayed as the evil incarnate by media trials. Irfan’s mother dies and Irfan escapes police custody. What happens next forms the rest of the story.

Later in the movie, Irfan is revealed to be a double agent working for the government,who planned this operation in advance in order to catch and kill a terrorist, dubbed 'Abu Bakr Abdullah' and to prevent the sarin gas attack planned by him on the city of Chennai. Eventually, when the factory in which the sarin gas attack was planned to be carried out in is destroyed by a military missile, Irfan dies.
